Back to Business: Time to meet exclusively with your established business partners
Wed., Feb. 3, 2010, 3:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. Narragansett Ballroom
Open only to planners and suppliers who have independently pre-set their own business appointments. Maximize your time at ETC 2010 by getting back to business with your current partners and suppliers before the conference begins. Travel planners have expressed the need for more time to meet with their established partners, but not at the expense of missing ETC educational sessions, colleague breakfasts, or reducing their time in the International Bazaar to preview/meet potential new partners, suppliers, and destinations. The purpose of these meetings, therefore, is to provide travel planners dedicated time to meet undisturbed with the individuals and companies they are already doing business with. It remains the responsibility of partners, planners, and suppliers alike to independently set up their own meetings before arriving at the conference. These can be set for any length of time, as long as the meetings are scheduled only within the Back to Business time-slot of 3:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. Back to Business meetings will be convened in a large ballroom in the hotel with small roundtables that seat six people (seven with a squeeze). Planners and suppliers alike can reserve a roundtable in this ballroom to conduct their meetings. There is no charge for a roundtable, but advance reservations are required. This is not an open session. Only individuals with business meetings independently scheduled in advance of ETC are offered ticketed access.
To participate in this afternoon program travel planners and tour operators/suppliers must take the following required steps prior to the conference:
1. Contact the current business partners with whom they wish to meet.
2. Confirm these meetings well in advance of ETC 2010 to allow folks to arrange their transportation accordingly.
3. Before January 20, log onto ETC’s website with your username and password; then, return to your registration form to make sure that you checked off the session option for "Back to Business"; if you did not, click on “update your registration selections” and add "Back to Business." If you have not checked this option on your registration form, we cannot reserve a roundtable for your organization.
4. To reserve your roundtable by January 20, e-mail registrar@travelearning.com with your reservation requesting a roundtable be secured in your name, with the exact times of your meetings noted. If you do not reserve a roundtable ahead of time by e-mail, we cannot guarantee you a roundtable for the Back to Business pre-conference meetings.
Again, the Back to Business pre-conference meetings are not being arranged by ETC. It is the responsibility of planners and/or suppliers to pre-set appointment meetings and to request a roundtable, as needed, from ETC at registrar@travelearning.com by the RSVP deadline January 20, 2010. |
